Return Policy


RETURNING ITEMS PURCHASED AT MACYS.COM

We want you to be happy with your purchase from macys.com. You may exchange or return most merchandise for a full refund, less shipping charges, based on the original form of payment, anytime after purchase. If you are returning a gift, you will receive a store merchandise credit.

In the case of an exchange, shipping for the new item will be free of charge. (However, we do not refund return shipping charges, unless we made an error.)

Return/Exchange macys.com items to any Macy’s store
You may return most items purchased on macys.com to any Macy’s store. Take your merchandise and this invoice (make sure bar code is attached) to your local store. Any Sales Associate can process your return.

Return macys.com items by mail
Use the Return Form that accompanied the merchandise shipment. We provide a preaddressed shipping label for your convenience. Misplaced your preaddressed shipping label? Print another.

* Complete the Return Form, indicating item(s) being returned and reason(s).
* Securely pack your merchandise with the invoice.
* Ship US Postal Service or UPS using the preaddressed mailing label. Please insure your package.
* We’ll process your return within 4 days of receipt, though it will take longer to appear on your statement. If you provided an email address, we’ll notify you via email when your exchange has been received and processed.

Exchange macys.com items by mail
You will not be charged for the shipment of your replacement item. Use the Return Form that accompanied the merchandise shipment. We provide a preaddressed shipping label for your convenience. Misplaced your preaddressed shipping label?Print another.

* Complete the Return Form, indicating item(s) being exchanged and reason(s).
* Securely pack your merchandise with the invoice.
* Ship US Postal Service or UPS using the preaddressed mailing label. Please insure your package.

* If the requested exchange item is not available, you will receive credit to the original form of payment. Merchandise credits will be issued for gifts. If you paid with a gift card, the debited amount will be returned in the form of a new gift card.

JEWELRY
Jewelry items purchased from macys.com must be returned within 30 days of receipt in its original condition and in its original packaging

STERLING SILVER FLATWARE
Sterling silver flatware purchased from macys.com may not be returned to our stores. To return sterling silver flatware purchased online, use the Return Form that accompanied the merchandise shipment or contact Customer Service at 1-800-BUY-MACY.


BRIDESMAID DRESSES

Bridesmaid dresses purchased online may be returned to the Macy’s store nearest you or by mail to either of the following Macy’s store locations:

Bridesmaid dresses must be returned within 30 days of the receipt of purchase with valid proof of purchase and all tags attached. Worn or altered garments may not be returned. Proof of purchase is defined as a valid receipt, a packing slip or a vendor direct shipping invoice.

AREA RUGS
Area Rugs purchased from macys.com may not be returned to our stores. To return a rug purchased online, repack the rug in its original packaging materials and contact Customer Service at 1-800-BUY-MACY. You will be contacted in 7-10 days by the shipper to arrange a pick up.

GOURMET FOOD AND GIFTS

Food and gourmet gifts may not be returned.


BONUS GIFTS

If returning an item that qualified you for a bonus gift, please include the bonus gift with your return. If you choose to keep the bonus gift, your account will be charged for its value.

MATTRESSES

Macy’s offers a 60-Day Comfort Trial on mattresses. If you’re not satisfied with your new mattress after 60 days, contact Macy’s within the next seven days to receive a one-time credit (minus fees) toward a new mattress of equal or greater value. New mattress selection must be made within 14 days. Mattress must be undamaged, unsoiled and free of stains. Please note that your delivery fee will not be refunded. A $70 redelivery fee will be charged, and a 10% handling fee will apply. For complete details, please call 1-800-BUY-MACY.

FURNITURE
Please contact us within 3 days of delivery if there is any problem with your furniture purchase. If an item has been damaged during manufacturing or delivery, we’ll schedule a technician to come to your home to make repairs. If you’d like to return your purchase for other reasons, including color, style are other aesthetic reasons, we’ll pick up your furniture for return and a restocking fee of 10% will be assessed; delivery fees are nonrefundable. Items purchased at Macy’s stores must be returned/exchanged at any Macy’s store location.

Unfortunately, macys.com cannot accept items that were purchased at Macy’s stores. Please do not attempt to return items purchased at a Macy’s store using our online shipping label. Items not purchased via the website will not be accepted and will be returned to the sender. We cannot accept responsibility for items purchased in stores that are returned to our warehouses.

Finish Line

Was not aware that when purchasing any womens athletic shoe from Macys, that it is subject to a different return policy than any other shoe in the store. Athletic shoes have a 45 day return policy because it's from "Finish Line". How would anyone know this. Macys took my payment, not "Finish Line"

5 stars all over! The best store ever, returns are done like nowhere else. High quality items for reasonable prices. But!!!! I read review by " kathi" and I am stunned. To bring in your worn and damaged granddaughter's jeans??? You have to have a nerve to do that and ask for money back. The next step would be to wash them and then bring in.OMG , people! Do not misuse Macy's great return policy!!!!!!

damaged jeans exchange/poor customer service

I had bought a pair of jeans for my granddaughter she wore them twice then the zipper broke. I tried to exchange them for a pair that was not damaged, however since I had paid cash the week before there was not computer record of my purchase. The manager said we could not exchange, I had to return w/o a receipt for the lowest price these jeans had been on sale for which was $12 less then what I had paid 1 week prior and then re purchase the jeans. I have been a loyal customer of Macy's for many years. I am not any longer! I will never shop there again and am telling everyone I know about this horrible policy for the exchange of a damaged product! I have many family members that are managers of businesses or owners and they have said this is something that should never happen! Target, Nordstroms and many other good businesses would have simply exchanged the item! Really Macy's!!!!!!!

Defective Furniture Exchange

Horrible furniture exchange experience. Damaged recliner delivered to my home 3 times and company (Sharon furniture division, executive office, Ohio) is refusing to replace (4th exchange attempt) the recliner, stating the product is not satisfactory to me (the new recliners were all damaged prior to delivery); therefore refusing me further attempts to exchange torn/ripped leather or broken recliners with an undamaged replacement (same exact item). Furthermore, Macy's does not have a written policy stating they can refuse exchange requests after so many attempts to correct "their" mistake. Macy's customer service is refusing me service as though the damaged recliners are my fault. Of course I have already paid for the product now they want to dictate to me what they will and will not do. I was told by Sharon (executive furniture office/division in Ohio)Macy's can refuse a replacement exchange after three attempts to exchange defective furniture because the customer can't be satisfied. I stated to Sharon the only thing I want is what I paid for, a new recliner that is not defective. I have never heard of such a poor consumer purchasing policy and experience such horrible customer service. Also, when I asked for a supervisor she stated, that I have to deal with her because no one else can help me. Therefore, I was further subjected to poor ongoing treatment. Customers beware. No wonder Macy's profits are declining. I was going to buy a sofa and mattress but Macy's will no longer get another cent of my money.
