What’s the difference between “Order Date” and

What is your return/exchange policy?

We guarantee our merchandise to be free of manufacturing defects and will accept any defective item for refund or exchange. Unwashed, unworn, unused or defective merchandise may be returned within 21 days after purchase for an exchange or refund. Merchandise received after 21 days will only be accepted at our discretion for an online store credit.

We will only refund shipping charges if we sent the wrong item or the item sent was defective. If you are making an exchange because you would like a different size, style or color, you will be charged for shipping on your exchange. The return/exchange value is determined by the last retail price of the item.

Please note merchandise purchased from an alternate authorized Hobo retailer, including department stores or specialty stores must be returned to the store from which it was originally purchased, and is subject to the return policy of the originating retailer. For damaged/defective items not purchased online, please check the retailer’s return policy. Every retailer has a different policy, but we work very closely with our retailers to ensure that everything goes smoothly and that you are satisfied with your purchase. Our usual repair time is six to eight weeks.

Please use the most economical shipping method for your return. Due to security constraints, we cannot reimburse you for an amount greater than your purchase amount.

Holiday Return/Exchange Policy

Returns/exchanges accepted for purchases (except Sale styles) made between 11/26/11 – 12/31/11 can be returned up to 1/21/12 (21 days of Holiday Return Period). Outside of this time frame all normal return policy parameters resume. Sale merchandise is to maintain normal 14 day return period.

How should I ship my return or exchange?

Pack and seal your box securely, in the original package if possible. You should ship your return/exchange with a carrier who will provide your package with a tracking number to ensure that your package does not get lost. Packages must be returned prepaid. We do not accept COD.

When will my credit card be refunded?

Once your package has been received, your refund or exchange will be processed within 7 business days. If there is a refund due, a credit will be issued in the original form of payment.

The credit may not show up until your credit card’s next monthly billing cycle. You will be notified via email to the address listed on your order when this transaction has taken place. Please note that your banking institution may require additional days to process and post this transaction to your account once they have received the information from us.

Do you make price adjustments?

Unless otherwise specified, if you purchase an item on Hobo Online and the item goes on sale within 7 days of purchase (order date) we would be happy to adjust your price to the new sale price. After that date we are unable to make any adjustments.

At Hobo, quality is our signature. Our handbags and wallets are hand crafted from the highest quality materials. Products are made of top-grain leather which is dyed to achieve deep, rich hues that become even more beautiful with age or using quality man-made fabrics that have been tested to endure heavy, everyday use. Our hardware is always made from durable materials like nickel or brass to ensure that it won’t chip or peel–ever.

Quality leather resists tears, punctures, heat and cold. Leather stretches with use, yet retains sufficient shape to provide support. Leather is breathable and can actually wick away moisture. Leather as a raw material is a by-product of farming and food production. The skins in leather garments and handbags bought in the U.S. do not come from animals killed just for their hides. No endangered species are ever used. The typical hide weight of our leathers is 2 to 3 ounces – a perfect bag weight to minimize heaviness while ensuring extreme durability.

Vintage – Italian top grain cowhide. It is drum dyed, glazed and then gently tumbledto break up the leather, giving it that special vintage appearance. This leather lends itself well to color – vibrant shades become softened to a subtle rich patina by the wonderful texture of this leather. The drape of this leather allows us to design more forward styles with extensive details, strap treatments and unique construction techniques that other leathers in our collection do not allow. Quality cream applications and occasional polishing will keep this leather looking great for years. Lotions and cleaners are not recommended.

Florence – Beautiful Italian cowhide – the finest we’ve found. Rich, vegetable dyes are applied on the surface to penetrate the hides for an unmatched depth of color and unique characteristics. Graining and natural markings are intentionally highlighted through a fine glaze finish that is reached by multiple passes through high-heat glass panels. The leather beautifully showcases more structured, classically styled bags and has become a hallmark to Hobo’s outstanding reputation as a quality leather accessory maker. Recommend color-matched creams and clear polishes to maintain this leathers’ luster and prevent surface scratches from diminishing its rich appearance. Conditioners are not recommended as it can dull its gloss finish.

Patent – Our crinkle patent leather is true top-grain 100% leather that has been given a high-gloss, crinkle finish. The original process was developed in the early 1800’s and is still used today. The raw leather is tanned and polished several times layering gloss multiple times. The final finish is a lacquer coating applied to the top layer of the leather to attain that glassy distinctive shinny look. Patent leather is very easy to care for, and can be cleaned with a damp cloth and then buffed to restore the shine. Hobo never recommends conditioners as its application may diminish the shine of luster of the Patent finish.

Sonoma – Our Sonoma collection is made using soft, hand dyed Goatskin from Italy. The attributes of this rich, supple leather it that it is naturally tear and puncture resistant. The wear is more durable than cowhide – but so much softer. This leather ages beautifully and the colors are likely to darken with use. Graining is intentional as this leather is washed to achieve a broken-in, gently used look. Bohemian styling complements this leather beautifully. Conditioners can be used occasionally to prevent drying but the application may darken the appearance.

Shimmer – Supple, soft drum-dyed lambskin is layered with a metallic finish. This durable skin naturally resists tears and punctures. Due to the high finish and size of the raw materials, this leather and treatment tend carry a higher price tag – but the luxurious look and feel of the leather justifies the splurge. The finish is perishable if combined with alcohol based cleaners and conditioners.

Guarantee: We are a concerned manufacturer who stands behind its products. We will repair, at our cost, any manufacturing defect within 1 year of purchase. Examples of qualified manufacturing defects include problems with zipper construction, loose stitching, hardware or lining. These claims should be directed to an authorized Hobo dealer or a Hobo customer service representative. Hobo will promptly repair the item. If repair is not possible, a replacement of equal value will be provided.

Proper care of your Hobo piece will ensure lasting beauty, even after years of wear. Please be thoughtful with light colored clothing and upholstery to avoid color transfer. Should your bag become wet, wipe it with a clean cotton cloth and allow it to air dry away from direct heat or sunlight. As with any leather accessory, wear and tear will occur with normal use. It should be expected that over time leather may fade or spot and that edges and corners may show signs of wear. This is a natural and normal process and is not covered by the Hobo guarantee. Regrettably, we also cannot guarantee or replace products damaged by abuse or mishandling; including exposure to moisture, severe tears in leather or lining and ink marks or stains. We are happy to recommend solutions for improving your bag’s appearance should natural wear and tear diminish its condition. We also offer replacement straps for styles that are equipped with detachable straps.
