Returns or Exchanges by Mail in Two Easy Steps
1. Print a Return and Exchange Form (PDF)
Download and complete the online form, or use the form printed on the packing slip that came with your order.
2. Print a Prepaid Return Label (opens in new window)
From contiguous 48 states only: Place the label on your package and ship it via UPS or US Postal Service. Please note that your refund will be reduced by $6.50 if you use a prepaid return label.
Returns from Alaska, Hawaii and APO/FPO must be sent via US Postal Service using this special printable USPS label.
Return shipping is FREE for L.L.Bean Visa Cardmembers¹.

UPS logo UPS, our preferred option, allows you to track your return online and provides fast service, with packages arriving at our facility in 2-5 business days. Find a UPS shipping location.
Returns sent via US Postal Service arrive at our facility in 3-8 business days, depending on your location. No online tracking information is available for packages shipped via US Mail.
If you choose not to use our prepaid label, you will be responsible for paying all return shipping costs. Please ship your return to:

For the fastest service, call Customer Service at 800-441-5713 to request a QuickExchange. We’ll place an order for your new item right away. We’ll need to charge you the purchase price, but we’ll waive the shipping and handling charge for the new item. Once we receive your return, we’ll credit you for the cost of the original item.

Returning Items Delivered by Freight
To return or exchange an item delivered by freight, please call us at 800-341-4341. We will arrange the return shipment with a freight company.
¹Free return shipping is available exclusively to L.L.Bean Visa Cardmembers. Recipients who are not L.L.Bean Visa Cardmembers are not eligible for this benefit. Free return shipping requires the use of a designated L.L.Bean return label. Free return shipping does not apply to items requiring freight shipping, Direct to Business items or items returned from US Territories or international locations. Free return shipping may be restricted if the number of items returned in the prior one year period exceeds the number of items purchased within that time.
